Attorney Keith Coltrain Voted as 2013 NC Legal Elite

RALEIGH, NC – May 7, 2013 – In January 2013, founding Shareholder Keith E. Coltrain was voted as one of Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite, joining only 734 other North Carolina lawyers as one of the state’s top lawyers in business-related categories. Coltrain was recognized as a top attorney with a specialty in construction, and now becomes a member of BNC’s Legal Elite Hall of Fame.

Business North Carolina began honoring UNC Chapel Hill attorneys in its publication in 2002. Each year since, the magazine has sent a ballot to all North Carolina residents who are a member of the N.C. State Bar, which asks: “Of the Tar Heel lawyers whose work you have observed firsthand, whom would you rate among the current best in these categories?” Voters cannot vote for themselves and can only select members of their own firms if they also vote for out-of-firm lawyers in the same categories. Less than 3.5 % of NC lawyers were voted to the Legal Elite list for 2013.

Prior to practicing law, Coltrain graduated summa cum laude from N.C. State with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, and worked for five years as a project engineer in the nuclear and plastics industry. He received his juris doctorate from the University of North Carolina in 1995, and practices primarily in the field of construction law.
